My Drugstore Makeup that Wears Like High End Makeup
Who doesn’t love a good drugstore product post? Let me just start by saying I am not a makeup artist, and I do not claim to know much if anything about makeup. When I purchase makeup I am looking for longevity in the wear, easy to use products, and a good price point. Also I have oily skin so I do not need anything that is going to make my skin more oily.
St. Ives Timeless Skin– This is my daily moisturizer, yes even oil skin people MUST wear moisturizer, and this one is under $6 and it in my opinion wears better than some high end moisturizers I have tried! It gives my skin the hydration it needs, even in this cooler weather, it makes my skin feel smooth and even, and it does not leave my skin feeling oily.
Flower Power Loose Power– This product has a bit of a higher price point, but for a drugstore finishing powder this stuff is good! My sister actually gave me this product she said she did not care much for it, so I was more than happy to test it out, and I love it! I wear LO2 Medium, and it leaves my makeup looking matte all day. It also helps with the longevity of my makeup, and it helps blur out my big pores! So extra Bonus!! I use a beauty blender to apply it and I press it into my pore area, and along my T-Zone. I would suggest if you have a heavy hand to apply it with a powder brush, a little definitely goes a long way.
EcoTools Blender Sponge– I would say for the past five years I have used a beauty blender or a real techniques sponge to apply my makeup. I never wavered from either of those two brands, until I started to notice the texture of both the Beauty Blender and the Real Techniques sponge had changed. After noticing this I decided I would branch out and try another sponge, the EcoTools Blender Sponge, and ladies I have got to tell you I really like it! I always use it wet, and I use it to apply my foundation, concealer, to bake my under eye and to apply my finishing powder. The blender helps give me a full coverage look, and I find that it makes the concealing application quick and easy. I love it and I cannot imagine applying my makeup without this sponge… I pray that they never change the formula!
Rimmel Lasting Foundation– Okay… So I am obsessed with MAC Studio Finish Liquid Foundation, I have been using it for years and even when I have tried other foundations, I always return to my MAC foundation, its amazing. I have been using this foundation for a little over a month and I have to say I really think it might be almost as good as my MAC foundation, and whats even better than that is it’s only $3.50!!! I mean what?? This foundation is so good, its long lasting, they claim it lasts up to 25 hours, I’ve never tested that claim! It is full coverage, it is comfortable on the skin, and it gives moisture to your skin while you are wearing it, great for this cooler weather, and it also has SPF!
e.l.f Dark Gel & Powder Eye Brow kit– I wish I could say that I was better at taking care of my brows, but the truth of the matter is it’s just too much work. Also when you live in a small town, you just do not have the option of going to the “brow bar” so you had better learn to groom them yourself, and ladies that just is not going to happen, haha!! This product helps me with my months in between threading. Its cheap and it really is a great shade for my dark brows, I am comparing it to a MAC brow pencil, I believe this lasts longer, and is much easier to use. It’s easy to use and there are tons of YouTube videos on how to use it! Which I have to watch over and over again!
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor– Lipstick has never been my close friend, when I wear it I always feel like people are thinking to themselves “she’s trying too hard”. I know they’re not really thinking that, but lipstick always makes me feel self-conscience. My grandma actually bought me these two shades which are really bold for me, but I love them. I love to wear them when I am heading out to run errands or when I feel like my face needs a little color. They are not super long lasting, but they do not cake up on me at all, no one wants caked lipstick around their lips, yuck! This line has some fun shades, and if for anything else go get yourself one just to push yourself outside of your comfort zone!
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara– Last but certainly not least is this mascara, I have purchased it at least 10 times and I am never disappointed, it’s so good! I have short eyelashes and like maybe 20 of them, so I need a mascara that is going to give me length and volume at the same time. This mascara delivers that, its super black, it does not clump my eyelashes together, and it builds thickness! This product truly is better than most high-end mascaras I have used, and its only $7!
If you are looking for a loose powder, mascara, moisturizer I would highly recommend these products, I do not think you’ll be disappointed.
